SMS disclosure and consent

When an Organization requests a Credential from a Person, Validacy can send a one-time transactional text message containing a secure, expiring link to upload or confirm that Credential. This page describes the consent, frequency, and opt-out terms for that message.

Who must consent

The requesting Organization is responsible for confirming it is authorized to contact the recipient at the phone number it supplies before sending a Credential request by SMS. Validacy's credential-request feature requires the requesting user to confirm this authorization as part of creating the request. A separate agreement between the Organization and the Person (for example, a non-disclosure agreement) does not by itself establish or replace this consent to be contacted by text message.

Message frequency, rates, and opt-out

Message frequency varies based on how many Credential requests an Organization sends to a given number. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to a Validacy message to stop receiving messages from that Organization, or HELP for help.

Controlled-alpha allowlist

During the controlled alpha, SMS delivery is additionally restricted, at the application level, to an explicit allowlist of phone numbers. A number is added to that allowlist only after Validacy has separately obtained that tester's explicit consent to participate in the alpha. The allowlist is an alpha safety boundary and does not replace the per-request authorization described above.

What the message contains

The message identifies Validacy and the requesting Organization, names the requested Credential type, includes the secure upload link, and includes STOP/HELP instructions. It does not include the Credential document itself or any other Person's data.
